We support the shelters with our tax dollars and they have a responsibility to market these adoptable animals effectively.
Animals should have a forever home filled with love.
Manatee is a no kill county now and advertises heavily for adoption of all animals they take in-there is a terrific group of rescue groups that do an awesome job of moving the animals into good homes!
One of my brothers, who was supposed to be watching my cat while I was overseas, got evicted and put my cat in the pound, where he was put down.
feel bad for the cat, they should have put you down!

At least give them half a chance to find a home.
is that Oscar in pic? :-)
I have always had rescue animals as part of my family. I have seen the horror of environments filled with animals destined for death row or to live their lives in a metal shoe box...those images haunt me.
Please join and pass this on to all!
lesley, how do i repost, there was no share icon.
Wow; I'm not sure. Post it on your facebook and someone will know; sorry hon
I've witnessed this myself. How would you like your life taken, without being given a chance, just because you're not as attractive as some others. Often times it's the scraggly and unique ones that we end up loving the most. ALL should be given a chance, just like us.
I know that they have put down dogs without the option of adoption, just because of their breed... So very sad!
All my animals have been mutts & rescues!
animals are our friends. for some an animal can be the only thing that gives them unconditional love. they deserve a chance to have a good life.
Every animal they take into these "shelters"...should have an opportunity to be seen by potential adopters..There have been too many instances where an animal in reasonably good health and NOT a danger to the public or puppies/kittens are automatically euthanized by these sadistic..kill shelters..and never given a reasonable opportunity to go to a loving home!
The numbers of dogs who never emerge from shelters alive is unacceptable. This is a good tool to help reduce this terrible loss of life.
