Where there is mountaintop removal, there is so much more vulnerability to extreme weather, ie. tornadoes, etc. The mountains used to serve as buffers against that....is my impression and understanding. Humans are great at ruining what God has created and putting other humans in greater danger of the elements!

Yes, and of course its always the rich corporations who put the poor people in jeopardy knowing full well they can't fight their big money. We all have to keep up the pressure in order to get anything important accomplished.

Destruction, permanent loss and short-sightedness in support of wasting energy. What are we leaving our children?

Climb every mountain,
Ford every stream,
Follow every rainbow,
'Till you find your dream.

The mountains of west Virginia are our dream.

thank you Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Mountains don"t grow back. They just leave a big ugly hole. It's stupid just like the people doing it.

Big Money must NOT be allowed to corrupt the earth for the sake of corporate profits. Mountain top removal has ramifications that impact the ecosystem in ways too numerous to list here. Just because it can technologically be done, doesn't mean it should happen. The government must stop this madness..

This is DISGUSTING! This absolutely makes me want to string up everyone involved in it! No excuses by the billionaires suffice!

I have long been attracted to this campaign and wanting to have a way to meanigfully participate. My dear brother David, a godsend and saint to all many in his Texas community, passed suddenly at the young age of 54 less than two months ago. His cell phone ringtone was 'Go Tell It on the Mountain' so my Christmas gift to him is a donation to this great organization! Mahalo to all who are doing the groundwork that will lead to the end of this destructive and needless practice.
