We are Jody Sowa and DeDe Brown for "Team Kickstands for Kids" of Foundation Rwanda's Build a Bike Campaign. We met in NYC over 10 years ago and became fast friends bonding over many things including good wine, good food, travel, music, sports and bike riding. Some of our most memorable times together have been riding bikes along the westside highway of Manhattan. A bike trip like this for us is a time to chat, to enjoy the outdoors, and see the sights. Half way around the world, it means so much more.
For the children of Rwanda, it means an education; it means food; it means a better future.
Jody learned about Foundation Rwanda a few years ago and volunteered her time and public relations expertise to the foundation in hopes of generating awareness for the work that they do. She included DeDe in some of her efforts and she also fell in love with the organization and its mission to help the children and women affected by the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.
When we learned of this amazing opportunity to further assist the Rwandan people and provide a practical but joyous gift of a bike to make their lives not only more efficient but to make their access to education more accessible, we knew we had to sign on!
We are so excited to embark on this adventure together and we hope that we can count on your support to help the people of Rwanda by sponsoring our team.
