About

This cause was made to support individuals with an intellectual disability, and to help provide them with the respect and dignity they deserve. It is important to use person first language as we all deserve the chance to be recognized as an individual.

In the fall of 2010, President Obama passed Rosa's Law, which changes all references in Federal law from "mental retardation" to "intellectual disability". This bill does not require change within state law terminology, and Michigan is one of 7 states doing NOTHING to support this bill. By signing this petition and following this cause, WE can make a difference for everyone.
