Raise Awareness and ensure equitable opportunities for all Canadians with Down syndrome
Founded in 1987 the Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) is a resource linking parents and professionals through advocacy, education and information.
The CDSS strives to create a proud Canada where ALL are welcome, we embrace diversity and we value everyone's genes equally and to ensure equitable opportunities for all Canadians with Down syndrome.
This means, to make sure all Canadians with Down syndrome have the right supports to give them the same opportunities that everyone else has.
1. People with Down syndrome should be given the same opportunities that everyone else has.
2. Parents should be offered unbiased information about Down syndrome both pre-natally and after baby is born.
