Back to Basic Rights Montgomery

THE BATTLE IS OVER - BILL 23-07 HAS BECOME LAW!

On Tuesday, September 9, 2008, the Court of Appeals ruled that the Citizens for Responsible Government, which sought to repeal a unanimously passed anti-bias measure against transgender people, had not collected enough signatures to quality for the ballot. The law in Montgomery County prohibiting discrimination on the basis of gender identity is now in effect.

Basic Rights Montgomery thanks everyone who supported our efforts to assure that anti-discrimination laws in our county were not rolled back.
