About

Kathryn Panda Bradley passed from brain cancer in February 2012 at the all too young age of 20. Being one of the most energetic, positive, happy people that any of us could come across, we wanted to do something in her memory by donating to Kathryn's favorite place: Camp Goodtimes West.

Camp Goodtimes West is an American Cancer Society camp on Vashon Island, WA specifically for children with cancer and their siblings. Kathryn had attended the camp as a child where she got her camp name: Panda. As a young woman, she volunteered there and spread her love of Camp Goodtimes with others. The camp is held for two sessions each Summer and accommodates 250 kids.

Last year we asked the camp what we could do to help out.  We gathered donations from several water sport brands including Radar/Ronix, Connelly/CWB and HO/Hyperlite. These items were either sold at the camp's silent auction, used at the camp on the Puget Sound or given away as prizes during the carnival. Donations like these are more than welcomed, however we have another goal this year. One thing that Camp Goodtimes had specifically asked for was water shoes, or aqua socks, so that the kids could play in the water off of Vashon Island without worrying about stepping on rocks or barnacles. We've found a great source for water shoes and have no doubt that we can reach our goal this year!

So that is what we are doing: donating water shoes to the camp! Each camper will get one pair they will be able to take home with them, along with a "Panda" pin we have designed in memory of Kathryn. We've set a goal of raising $1,500 by mid June 2013, the date of the first Camp Goodtimes West session. Just $5 will purchase one pair of shoes for a camper. That's less than your double grande soy 2 pump hazelnut no foam latte! So feel good about yourself today by donating to our cause! Thanks for supporting Camp Goodtimes West in memory of our friend Panda.
