Cases & Faces: Kara Nichols

Kara Nichols left her home in the area of 6700 Mission Road in Colorado Springs bound for Denver, CO on October 9, 2012. The last call on her cell was placed at 11:45pm on October 9th and she was never heard from again. Kara was heading to Denver what we believe was for a modeling interview, she never arrived. Kara in the months leading up to her disappearance had been posting profiles on sites hoping for her big break into modeling; sadly, the family, although the investigation cannot prove it at this time, believe those profiles may have been the cause for her disappearance.

After lack of attention from the public regarding their missing 19-year old daughter, Paul and Julie Nichols came to the National Women's Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation for help obtaining media support and resources on human trafficking.

NWCAVE launched a national media campaign and with the support from many networks including HLN and our friend Jane Velez-Mitchell, many tips and leads were given to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office in Colorado Springs. Unfortunately, because of the media attention some cruel hoax attempts were made implying Kara is in Las Vegas. This past week the much-needed time to find Kara was spent investigating these bogus claims and NWCAVE along with El Paso County Sheriff's Office and the LVPD found ourselves doing damage control.

Despite the national media attention since our efforts began on November 10th, Kara is still not home and our search efforts continue. The family asks that you please print, post and share the flyer.

"Thank you everyone for helping to spread the word. The more people that know Kara is missing, the sooner we will find our precious daughter." Paul and Julia Nichols
