Every day, 100 people overdose and die. Of these, 54 of them are on prescription drugs that were obtained through legal and non legal means. WE need to set up a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program that covers patients and doctors.
We also need uniform laws in each state. As it is right now, each state has individual laws about prescription drugs and identifying people who abuse and doctors who prescribe them.
This would gather each states information, and be able to better track the people at risk for abuse or addiction, make less pills available for sale on the street and shut down pill mills.
