"Street Medicine is my first documentary. It was released in 2008. It has played more than 300 times on TV in the US and was selected to several festivals worldwide. The best part is that it is still helping to raise money for... free, quality health care to people in need through nine sites in Los Angeles County.

America is the only country in the industrialized world which does not provide universal health care. Initiatives providing free medical care and social services to the homeless and uninsured population in the United States are very few but are making a remarkable difference in their communities."

If you find yourself really getting into it, check out the multi-part CALPAC series beginning at We also promote the sister cause at Dr. Withers will present the history of Street Medicine, Operation Safety Net, and how Street Medicine has been used in cities all over the world.
