Our mission is to regain funding cut from Douglas College's Consumer & Job Preparation program for the developmentally disabled.
The goal of this cause is to regain funding cut from Douglas College's Consumer & Job Preparation program for the developmentally disabled. These cuts will close the program halfway through its 2011/2012 run thereby removing the opportunity for current and future developmentally disabled students to have an education and strong prospects for future employment and increased independence. By making these cuts Community Living British Columbia(CLBC) and the provincial government is blatantly snatching away a productive future from these people. To make this change we must show the politicians that the treatment of developmentally disabled persons as second class citizens in British Columbia will not be tolerated. In order to accomplish these goals we intend to lobby the minister for community living Harry Bloy as well as the provincial and federal government through petitions and public protests.
