To transcend artistic boundaries in our community by providing a unique visual and performing arts center, open to ideas and individuals that provoke positive action through artistic expression.

Gallery5 is a community oriented, socially aware art gallery and performing art center located in Historic Jackson Ward. It opened its doors on April 15, 2005, in an effort to save the life of the National Historic Landmark known as Steamer Company No. 5. Every "First Fridays", Gallery5's visitors are treated to an entirely different, theme art event. Each and every month thousands pass through the 158 year old front doors and enter a world of the unexpected.

1. Gallery5 exists to preserve creative development within our city.

2. We believe that art is for all to enjoy, regardless of race, religion, or socioeconomic status.

3. As a non-profit visual and performing arts center, Gallery5 has a responsibility to serve the community it rests in.
