Germany returns illegally excavated pottery fragments taken during WWII


The Pfahlbaumuseum, an open-air archaeological museum located in Southern Germany, will return 8,000 pottery fragments dating from the Neolithic Era, which were illegally excavated in 1941 near Velestino, Thessaly. The German and Greek ministries are currently working on forming an international cooperation network through "the signing of bilateral agreements for the protection of cultural goods and the prevention of artifact trafficking"
