Whereas: It is forbidden in the Sikh Reht Maryada for Sikhs to worship idols: http://www.sgpc.net/rehat_maryada/section_four.html
Whereas: It is also forbidden in the Sikh Reht Maryada for Sikhs to participate in or practice Hindu rituals and ceremonies such as fire pujas and adorn Hindu tikka on the forehead.
Whereas: These forbidden practices for Sikhs are being performed by Yogi Bhajan's 3HOers:
Therefore: Sikhs from around the world demand the removal of a golden idol from the 3HO Sikh Gurdwara in Espanola New Mexico USA and the immediate ceasing of any participation in or practice of Hindu rituals and ceremonies such as fire pujas by Yogi Bhajan's 3HOers who cannot call themselves Sikhs.
Idolatry is forbidden in Sikhism, yet a golden idol adorns the entranceway to the 3HO Sikh Gurdwara in Espanola next to the SikhNet offices. This is a Hindu practice and the idol should be removed from this Sikh Gurdwara. 3HO Sikhs like Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa should stop performing pujas and other tantric practices in direct violation of Sikh Reht Maryada. Inspired by devotion, And awake to His Light, Singing perpetually, The Name of the Lord Absorbed in His splendor, Absorbed in His love; Even in error Never believing In fasts and tombs, Temples and idols, Or anything but The devotion to the One: Caring not even for Compassion or charity If God's thought be not in them; Caring not for penances, Nor for bathings, In the holy places. Discarding all yoga practices: Such a Child of Light, Such a paragon, Such a complete Man, Fully enlightened In heart and soul, To be the pure, the Khalsa Is worthily deemed. Guru Gobind Singh: Thirty Three Swaiyas 1.
Sikhism completely disavows the utility of yogas, fasts, pilgrimages, rituals and all other types of mystification manufactured by man. These acts are a poisonous salve for superstitious sheep who believe that the formula of ritual will lead to salvation. Rituals and idols satisfy the carnal senses and do nothing more. Rituals and idols are metaphysical carnology. All of these statues and images of Yogi Bhajan and Hindu gods installed in and around 3ho Gurdwaras is an obscenity according to Sikhism and should be removed.
