Each year young leaders who emulate the leadership qualities of Brian Edwin Wagner are granted this distinguished award. Brian passed away at the age of 16, in a tragic automobile accident during his junior year at York High School.

Tom Cellitti, a dedicated BEWSF supporter stated, "Brian greatly influenced me as his grade school basketball coach and a person. He was an exceptional leader and a true champion in many ways; the best leader in my 23 years of coaching. Brian always gave 100% and led by example. He was an inspiring individual who motivated everyone to reach beyond their potential to make the team successful. It is important to me to have Brian’s memory live on through future leaders who embrace his same leadership qualities.”
