Encourage young leaders to serve their community by exercising sound judgment and committing themselves to volunteer programs that make a positive impact in their lives and the lives of others.

Who was Brian Wagner and why is this cause important to us?

Brian was a gifted scholar and athlete who graduated from Visitation Catholic School and attended York Community High School, in Elmhurst, IL. His life ended in the summer of 1993, before his senior year of high school. He was the victim of a drunk driving accident.

Throughout Brian’s brief lifetime, he made a positive impact in his own experience and in the lives of many others. He was a leader in and out of the classroom. Brian’s courage, determination and kindness are still remembered in the hearts of those who knew him. Although our friend is no longer with us, his memory is still very alive to those whose lives he touched.

The Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund (“BEWSF”) exists to recognize high school students who share the same drive, values and aspirations as Brian did. Our scholarship commemorates his memory and provides an opportunity to leaders like Brian to pursue their dreams through a college education. Education is a requirement for a successful career. Most companies will not even consider a resume without a college degree or formal certification.

The increasing difficulty of financial times affects so many bright, focused, young individuals that have the potential to capture their dreams and become something special. Unfortunately, some of these teens will struggle to meet that status and due to no fault of their own, some never will.

Our funding will help them achieve these aspirations and gain the recognition they deserve as they strive to reach their full potential. While we cannot make a difference in everyone's life, we can make every difference in a few.

Please help us to honor his memory by supporting these beautiful minds in furthering their education so they may achieve their goals and live the life that fate stole from our beloved friend, Brian E. Wagner.
