Help Hawk Nelson feed 1,000 kids in partnership with Samaritans Purse!

Hawk Nelson will be partnering with YOU to feed 1,000 kids via Samaritans Purse' operation. We need to raise $7,000 to do this. Please consider donating just $7- this feed one child for one week. See Below for more details about this program:

Samaritan's Purse helps Christian workers care for the physical needs of infants and children, as well as the spiritual needs of their families in famine-stricken villages and poor communities through our Child Feeding Projects (013710) fund. This fund also supports many orphanages around the world where children receive the life-saving food and medical care they need, along with an opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Additionally, we support feeding programs in daycare centers, schools and hospitals, ministries for street children, and camps for people displaced by war or conflict.

In the rural Altiplano region of Bolivia, Samaritan’s Purse is providing food for over 2,000 school children at 71 schools every school day. The nutritional food the children receive is an incentive to stay in school and break the cycle of poverty that dominates that region.

Samaritan’s Purse is also working alongside World Food Program in Niger to conduct supplemental and therapeutic feeding programs in sixteen communities in the Tillabery region, and nearly 8,000 people are benefiting from this work. We began working there in 2005 with the widespread famine and now it seems it’s getting bad again (no rain). In Niger, we have Therapeutic Feeding Programs for children under 5 years in 16 communities. We also help their mothers by doing training for them. They are used to giving their babies water when they’re born. We teach them the importance of breast milk. If the children are under weight, they are given a 2-week ration of highly nutritious “paste” that helps them gain weight, while keeping them healthy. If they are severely underweight, they are sent to the local ministry of health.

We are providing food for children under five years old and their mothers in two Kenyan districts where people fled from fighting earlier this year. Other feeding programs we support benefit children in
