Back to Save the Mumbulla and Five Forests Koalas from logging

First Mumbulla koala court court case decided this week

More than 6 months after logging of Mumbulla Forest koala habitat forest was suspended until after the NSW election next March, the first court case of a person defending koala protest charges was decided this week in Bega.
Keith Hughes, who represents The Greens on the Bega Valley Shire Council and is convener of the South East Region Conservation Alliance http://www.serca.org.au/ successfully defended 2 out of 3 police charges alleging that he blocked log trucks on Mumbulla Creek Road. About 12 forest defenders are due to appear in court in the New Year to defend more than 35 charges. To help these forest defenders you can contribute to the Forest Defenders Legal Fund at: http://www.chipstop.forests.org.au/forest_defenders_fund.htm
