Dear Fellow Causes Member,
First, we wanted to say thank you to everyone who has donated to First Graduate in the past. For those of you not familiar with the organization, our mission is to help San Francisco's young people become the first in their families to graduate from college.
The mission is critical to broader education and economic reform efforts, as college completion has become a priority for thought leaders, policy makers and government officials nationwide, from San Francisco Unified School District to the White House. Especially in San Francisco where only 4% of middle school students who do not have a family college-going tradition will graduate from college without intervention.
Together we are hoping to change the lives for more first-generation students, and make a real impact in the community. In fact, this spring our first class celebrated becoming the first in their families, and in the history of our organization, to graduate from college. You can watch Daisy, Lourdes, Jodie and Alex's testimonials at http://youtube.com/firstgraduate (http://youtube.com/firstgraduate) and share their stories with a friend or colleague.
Daisy, Lourdes, Jodie and Alex are trailblazers. They exemplify what First Graduate's long-term college success program can do for young people who aspire to become the first in their families to graduate from college.
