Woman arrested for wildlife trafficking


Wildlife officials of the Dja and Lobo Divisional
Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife have arrested a woman along the Djoum –
Sangmelina highway in the South of Cameroon. She was found in possession of
huge quantitiies of illegal wildlife species and products .  Wildlife species
found in her possession included  class A species. The totally
protected mandrill whose survival is threatened by a booming illegal trade is a
class A species according to the wildlife law. 2 full and fresh mandrill
carcasses were found in one of the bags she had. She was equally found in
possession of 10 yellow back duikers.
