Two arrested in North Cameroon, hippo teeth, crocodile skins, many other parts confiscated

Two suspected wildlife traffickers have been arrested in Garoua, in Northern Cameroon. They were found in illegal possession of numerous wildlife products including several hippopotamus teeth and two crocodile skins among many others. A 28-year-old man was arrested alongside a 35-year-old man by wildlife officials of the North Region during a crackdown operation carried out with the technical support of LAGA, a non-governmental organisation that is specialised in wildlife law enforcement. The suspects are equally accused of illegal circulation of wildlife products in a region that hosts so many of Cameroon’s wildlife species.
