Our mission is to provide quality primary health care to underserved patients of the Dominican Republic and to build local capacity for achieving improved community health.

Health Horizons International (HHI) promotes community health and access to primary health care in impoverished communities of the Dominican Republic. Our model includes a unique community health workers program, continuity of care through primary health care field clinics, and a commitment to public health research and project development. We work to address health issues in partnership with local communities, while also leveraging the knowledge and passion of international volunteers and supporters.

We are committed to a global community in which healthcare is universally available and in which all communities have the power to promote health and well-being. Our vision is for all people to overcome the inequalities in health that disproportionately affect the poor.

Thank you for your generosity in supporting this important cause.

1. Health care should be available to all without regard to race, creed, ethnicity or socio-economic status.

2. Care should be centered on the whole person within the context of family and community.

3. The burden of poor health outcomes rests disproportionately on the poor and marginalized, and is therefore an issue of social justice.
