Announcing The Inaugural HERO-THON Half Marathon

For 25 years The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been involved with some of the most sought-after endurance events in the country. We have been running, walking, swimming and cycling to raise funds for lifesaving blood cancer research.

LLS supporters have been heroes to so many for so long and have enabled many breakthrough discoveries that have saved many lives. In honor of these heroes and in honor of our patients, 2013 will mark the year when LLS will put on their own world class event.

I am very excited to announce HERO-THON Half Marathon Series Powered by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The inaugural half marathon will take place in San Antonio, Texas on January 27, 2013. We expect runners and walkers from all over the country to participate with LLS and to advance our mission.

The route will start at the Alamodome in San Antonio and course through some of San Antonio's famous landmarks like River Walk, The Alamo and Brakenridge Park culminating in a finish line festival back at the Alamodome. It promises to be an exciting weekend!

Each of us has within us a set of powers we call upon to help us accomplish what might otherwise seem insurmountable. We all have the potential to be a superhero.

Please join us for the inaugural HERO-THON San Antonio January 27, 2013 and be part of a heroic event.
