to make sure that Music is given a mandatory status in Australia's new National Curriculum

This group will advocate for the inclusion of Music as a mandatory subject in the National Curriculum, the development of a developmental, sequential curriculum based on the voice, and the improvement of teaching training for primary teachers and music teachers in the universities so that all children have access to a high quality music education.

1. That music education is the right of every child

2. That music is unique among the arts in the ways in which it develops high level cognitive skills, literacy and numeracy.

3. That we must not allow the implementation of a National Curriculum to erode the teaching of music in this country - rather, it should improve it.
