November 26, 2013.
We all have moments in our lives when we realize what strength really means. And for families affected by Spinal Muscular Atrophy, it takes on new significance entirely. A few weeks ago, we asked our community to share with us what strength means to them. We were overwhelmed as many of you shared stories of how your strength has helped overcome adversity, maintain faith and hope, and deepen relationships with family and friends. Especially in this season, it seems appropriate to extend our thanks for all the inspiring answers you’ve shared, and for all you do throughout the year to keep us inspired.
The theme for our 2014 Annual Campaign is SMA takes away. You give back. SMA takes away so much, but together, we can reclaim what this disease has taken. SMA takes away milestones, but we can give back momentum. SMA takes away certainty, but we can give back energy. SMA takes away normalcy, but we can give back courage. And while SMA takes away many areas of physical strength, together we can give back strength in so many unique and diverse ways.
Please visit our Give Strength page (http://www.fsma.org/fundraising/wufoo/) to read the answers we’ve already received, and to add your own—we are continuing to accept and share answers throughout the campaign.
Also, please consider making a donation (http://www.fsma.org/yougiveback/index.cfm) to help give back what SMA takes. Once you’ve made a donation, you’ll receive information on how you can submit a picture to our Wall of Strength.
