Dear Facebook Cause Members,
Tomorrow, on Thanksgiving Day, when my loved ones and I are gathered round' the table getting ready to enjoy the feast in front of us of roast turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and buttery rolls- I am going to think of one number: 91,000.
There are approximately 91,000 people in America that are battling with oral cancer right this very moment. And every year 37,000 more people will become newly diagnosed with this same disease.
When oral cancer strikes, it hits you hard in the mouth (literally). It takes away your ability to eat, taste, and enjoy turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and many other foods that have become tradition to experience on this day of thanks. So tomorrow, be thankful that you can enjoy these things, because there are 91,000 people that cannot.
The Oral Cancer Foundation is working hard to lower this number and the high death rate associated with oral cancer. But they cannot do it without your help. Please, give thanks to the Oral Cancer Foundation to support their programs for early detection.
With your help, more people could enjoy turkey with their family by next year.
