Advocate for research, training and cost-effective treatments.
Founded in 1980, the ADAA is a national membership organization focusing exclusively on all anxiety disorders. Individuals with anxiety disorders, health professionals treating anxiety diorders and researchers are all encouraged to join and participate in the ADAA.
The Anxiety Disorders Association provides educational information about panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorders and phobias to patients and their families and health professionals. Information is disseminated on the web, through printed materials and an e-newsletter. The organization sponsors an annual conference in March. The ADAA provides referrals to treatment providers to help individuals find a therapist, both online and by telephone. The ADAA also sponsors special topic conferences for researchers and clinicians, and publishes the proceedings
