Find a cure for Rett Syndrome...

Rett Syndrome is a neurological disorder that occurs mostly in girls. It is usually caused by a mutation on the X chromosome (MECP2 gene). Early development appears normal, but around 16 to 18 months the child begins to regress and usually loses all purposeful hand skills, gross motor skills, and speech. Most girls with RS have repetitive hand movements such as hand wringing or hand-mouthing almost constantly while awake. Other characteristics include seizures, hypotonia, scoliosis, and irregular breathing.

My daughter has Rett Syndrome and even though it takes her longer to process things due to Rett's, she understands everything and is so smart. She is basically trapped inside her body and can't express her feelings as easily as most of us through speech. Please help support the fight to find a cure for Rett Syndrome that will help not only my daughter, but all of her "Rett Sisters" as well.
