The Autism Treatment Acceleration Act (ATAA) is currently in congress. This bill increases funding for research, treatment, and services, including requiring insurance companies to pay for therapy.

Families are currently paying upwards of fifty thousand dollars to provide treatment for their children with autism while also paying for medical insurance. At the same time, countless other families are unable to take advantage of these therapies because of the high cost. This bill will assist famililes in finding affordable treatment through insurance, localized clinics with evidence-based successful therapies, and countless other resources to help their children successfully navigate the world with autism.

1. Therapy has proven to help children overcome autism on numerous levels.

2. Therapy is expensive and currently requires state funding. As a result, accredited therapy locations are few and far between.

3. If insurance companies are required to pay for evidence-based services, the expansion of autism treatment centers and patients can grow exponentially.
