It is the beginning of a new year and a new partnership for Poverty Stops Here. PSH is entering a new partnership with Hands at Work (HaW). Together we will be working in Ilaje, a slum in Lagos. HaW has identified 154 orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Ilaje that are in need of food, basic health services, and education. A local volunteer organization has sprung up in the past year to aid the community, however they cannot provide for everyone and they desperately need our help. We at Poverty Stops Here have committed to providing food, basic health, and education for a minimum of 50 of the OVC’s at a cost of 15 dollars per month. By the end of 2011 our goal is to provide the basics to all 154 children that are identified. The only way we can live up to that commitment is if people like you join us in the fight to end extreme poverty. We are asking for you to sponsor a child for a period of time.
If you would like to sponsor a child please email Pat Murack at [email protected] and include your name, mailing address, email and for how long you would like to sponsor a child. You will then receive an email with a little more details about Ilaje and how to donate.
Have a Happy New Year
