McDonald's has a promotion: free coffee ... in new Styrofoam cups. They even cleverly cover all the Styrofoam up with a paper sticker, so you can't tell it's Styrofoam right away.
Back in the day, McDonald's used to use a lot of Styrofoam, but they switched to recycled paper. Why go back to Styrofoam?

As we all know, Styrofoam takes hundreds of years to break down, harms ocean wildlife and takes up space in landfills.
We need to call for better alternatives to be put in place, and we need to keep people aware of this issue so we all make better choices.
