Fill the existing gap in services for LD sufferers by teaching life and social skills needed for independent living after high school.
We have a residential program for learning disabled females and a coed post secondary program at Northern VA Community College. Our goals is to help people with learning disabilities transition from high school to independent living and have a network of peers for social life and professionals to give guidance.
2. We are the only residential program of our kind in Virginia!!
3. People with learning disabilities look perfectly capable but often struggle with holding a job, driving, memory, reading and money mgt.
4. Learning disabilities can be present from birth or caused by tramatic brain injury from events such as car accidents.
5. Simple daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, paying bills, and remembering to take medication are a huge challenge for those with LD.
