Join World Vision for Stand Up Against Poverty in New York City – September 19 (http://www.standupnyc.org/)
Believe that ending extreme poverty is something to stand up for? Something to make noise for? Something to take action for? Then join us at Lincoln Center in NYC on Sunday, September 19th to stand up for the world we want -- a world void of extreme poverty!
In 2000, World leaders committed to ending extreme poverty by 2015 signed up for the Eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which set out targets for doing so.
Ten years later, these commitments are way off track!!
On September 20-22, 192 world leaders will meet in New York to discuss the MDGs. It is crucial that we make as much noise as possible in New York and demand that leaders listen to us and MAKE CONCRETE COMMITMENTS to getting the MDGs on Track and Ending Extreme Poverty by 2015.
This is your chance to add your voice to the global movement to END POVERTY! Stand Up and Take Action against poverty with World Vision on September 19th! Stop by anytime between 12-4pm for great speakers (Sue Mbaya, Advocacy Director of World Vision Africa, will be speaking at 2pm) and LOTS of ways to get involved and advocate to end extreme poverty.
