Back to Sign the Desmond Tutu letter on the Dalai Lama

Desmond Tutu and TheCommunity.com

Dear Cause Member,
Last year you joined the cause "Sign the Desmond Tutu letter on the Dalai Lama", a letter from Nobel Peace Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu in support of the Dalai Lama. The letter was posted on TheCommunity.com. (www.thecommunity.com)

I wanted to let you know about a few other things going on.

The Archbishop recently gave us a statement on the new immigration laws in Arizona, posted at http://thecommunity.com/blog/2010/04/28/arizona-the-wrong-answer/. There were more than 6000 newspaper articles on the statement. It was also posted on the front page of the Huffington Post (with a link back to TheCommunity.com), and more than 4000 people posted the article to their Facebook pages.

We are going to have a new letter from him in the coming weeks regarding Aung San Suu Kyi, which will be open for your signatures.

TheCommunity.com is preparing to launch a large two year campaign to raise awareness of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We have taped public service announcements for the campaign with the Archbishop and with Morgan Freeman. We are taping one with His Holiness the Dalai Lama in mid-May, and have other surprises coming.

I hope you will have a look at TheCommunity.com -- www.thecommunity.com -- and consider becoming a member to stay up to date on our activities. It is free, of course, and only takes a minute. You will get short emails from us when we have an action or new news item breaking.
