Back to Save Louisiana Arts

An important Message about next week

Thank you to everyone. The Facebook Cause Page is over 5k strong! Below is an important message from LPA. All the Best, Mark.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the House Appropriations Committee will be taking testimony next Thursday, April 23rd in Hearing Room 5 in the basement level of the State Capitol. The Committee will convene at 9:00 A.M. As we get closer, I'll try to give you an update on the probable time that testimony will be taken on the budget for Culture Recreation and Tourism.

Christie Weeks (Jonesboro, Jackson Parish) and Joycelynn Reynolds (New Orleans) will be testifying on behalf of the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts. This is one of the most important steps in the budget process because this is the chance for citizens to address the impact of these budget cuts on their communities. I encourage you to join us at the capitol to show support for Christie and Joycelynn as they present our case to the legislators on the committee.

And, don't forget to wear YELLOW! We made an impression at the last Appropriations hearing, so let's continue to wear YELLOW to remind our legislators that the arts funding is being held hostage by the Governor.

Remember, a strong show of support makes a impression that the committee members will remember as they review our budget . . . "Those arts people in YELLOW!"

Looking forward to seeing you in Baton Rouge on the 23rd,
