Important Rules and Reminders

Due to New York Road Runners (NYRR) and Achilles International regulations, we are not allowed to hand out water or food at the walk. Please bring your own water, especially since the weather report calls for 88 degrees and sunshine.

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Please note in particular the following NYRR rules and regulations (Source: http://www.nyrr.org/races/procedures/rules_of_competition.asp):

For the safety of all participants and to satisfy insurance requirements, no skates, strollers, babystrollers/babyjoggers, or animals (including dogs) are permitted in NYRR events or on the race course.

Participants in events in city parks must share the road with other park users by staying in the innermost recreation lane at all times. Failure to do so may result in participants being disqualified from the race and barred from future events.

Participant numbers must be fully visible at all times, preferably worn on the front of the shirt or singlet. We will have safety pins available at the RSDSA table.

The use of headphones is strongly discouraged.

In addition:

All baggage must be checked, as no belongings can be left at the RSDSA table. Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If using this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. NYRR, Achilles International, and RSDSA are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Location

The closest entrance to the starting line is at Tavern on the Green at West 67th Street and Central Park West. No vehicles will be allowed to drive into the park. Please refer to the website for information on local parking garages and subway stops: http://www.rsds.org/4/awareness/Achilles/2010/index.html

Registration Pick-up Information

If you registered through RSDSA at Firstgiving.com, we will have your registration packets (includes Team RSDSA t-shirt, walk bib number, and timing chip [if requested]) at the Team RSDSA table within the Achilles International registration tent at Mineral Springs. Do not go to the area marked TEAMS. If you have questions on Sunday morning, please call Deb Nelson-Hogan on her cell phone at 917.826.7107.

The best entrance to the Park for registration pick-up and the starting line is at West 67th Street and Central Park West.

We will be at the RSDSA table from 6:450 am to 8:00 am. Because of the size of our team, we strongly encourage early pick-up of packets. We ask that participants gather by the RSDSA table by 7:45 am, so that we can start the Achilles Walk together as a team! Also, we will take our annual group photo before the walk.
