About

To promote respect for all life by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect and pet overpopulation in our communities.

The Sacramento Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) was established 1894 and is dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all animals in the Sacramento area. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted, abandoned and mistreated pets until they can be placed into loving homes. Through proactive intervention, public education and community outreach, the Sacramento SPCA seeks to promote respect for all life by breaking the cycle of abuse, neglect and pet overpopulation in our communities.

The Sacramento SPCA is supported through private contributions, and is not affiliated with any local or national animal welfare organization. We depend on local support to help thousands of animals annually. By giving locally you can provide a brighter future for Sacramento's pets in need.
