Ha'apai Islands Coastal Cleanup Event on TV3 New Zealand

Hello to our supporters!

This is a reminder to watch TV3's Campbell Live show at 7:00PM tonight. The story from the Ha'apai Islands coastal cleanup is going to air.

If you are not in New Zealand (as many I know are not) you can catch the coverage on www.3news.co.nz/CampbellLive .

For those of you who don't already know, the event was a HUGE success. Over 3000 people participated and we have packed 8 containers, generously provided by Reef Shipping, full of rubbish to be transported for proper disposal in Tongatapu.

We would like to give out a word of thanks to the people who have made this event possible. Firstly Reef Shipping, who have supported us since the conception of the idea, Digicel, The Air New Zealand Green Team, E.M. Jones Group, Sony New Zealand, Anchor Milk, The Tongan Visitor's Bureau, Chathams Pacific, Coastlines New Zealand, Westpac Bank of Tonga, New Zealand Aid, AusAid, PTH Hardware, Glen and Janey from Oceanblue Adventures, Brian and Sabine from Fins n Flukes, Whittakers Chocolate, Tasti Foods, Total Fiji Ltd, BP, Dateline Trans-am Shipping, The Perfumery Australia and Benefitz Print Solutions.

Also a big thanks to our volunteers who traveled abroad to help come and make a difference, Nonu Pohiva, Mosese Fifita, Pita Vi and all of the people from Foa and Lifuka Islands that have shown the world that many hands make light work.

Without all the help and enthusiasm of everyone involved, none of these incredible results would have happened.

It was an amazing event and we are now looking to the future, working on raising the funds and drawing up support to sustain and protect our coastlines.
