TBBCF provides funding to researchers in search of a cure for breast cancer. A unique non-profit group, TBBCF relies on sponsorship and volunteerism to direct 100% of fundraising dollars to research.

TBBCF was established in 2006 by two friends, Norma Logan (1958-2006) and Sandy Maniscalco, who realized the need for a new kind of organization. In 2005, the two friends led a group of walkers in raising $200,000 for an internationally renowned breast cancer foundation. Afterwards they discovered that 40% of the money they raised went to overhead and never made it to critical research programs. The foundation’s name honors Terri Brodeur who after a two-year battle with breast cancer succumbed to the disease in 2005 at age 39, as did Norma one year later.

Since 2006, TBBCF has directed $1.1 million to 11 breast cancer researchers. Our signature fundraising event is the TBBCF Walk Across Southeastern CT, held in October each year. Much of the efforts of the organization are directed to the successful delivery of this event.

Thank you to our friends and supporters for funding research to find a cure.
