To educate the public on the threat caused by the careless disposal of plastic products.
This research that started with Charlie Moore-Algalit Marine Research Foundation-in 2009 has led to six open ocean-voyages sampling the North Pacific Garbage Patch, the South Pacific, North and South Atlantic oceans. The research continues specifically on the N. Atlantic, providing research opportunities for undergrads and graduate student interested in learning more about the impacts of plastics in the marine environment. Please help fund student research as federal funding is drying up.
