The Petit Family Foundation honors the memories of Jennifer-Hawke Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit and Michaela Rose Petit by continuing the kindness, idealism and activism that defined their lives.
In 2008 the Foundation awarded three academic scholarships as well as four community service awards to high school students. It also supported The Prudence Crandall Center (New Britain, CT) which offers comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence. In addition, the Foundation gave to “Hayley’s Hope and Michaela’s Miracle Memorial Fund” supporting pediatric Multiple Sclerosis programs, family educational programs, and the MS college scholarship. For 2009, The Petit Family Foundation is continuing to work towards their mission through ongoing support from the community, and is planning on awarding more educational and community service based scholarships.
1. The foundation funds are given to foster the education of young people, especially women in the sciences.
2. Also to improve the lives of those affected by chronic illness.
3. And lastly to support the efforts to help and protect those affected by violence.
