About

The New Kent Humane Society is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. We exist solely by donations of time and money given by kind and caring individuals.

The New Kent Humane Society, Inc. is an all volunteer organization. The New Kent Humane Society has its 501(c)(3) non-profit status. Animals enter our system from the New Kent County Animal Control Pound Facility. These animals are placed in foster homes and given visibility on our website and at our adoption stands until they find a “forever” home.
The organization is funded through donations from the public and by fundraisers.

1. Save animals lives that would otherwise be euthanized at the pound facility.

2. Community outreach and adoption events to place animals into loving homes.

3. Reducing the pet population by encouraging spaying and neutering!

4. To take the steps that are necessary to educate the community with regard to the humane treatment of animals.
