Tibet: One People, One Nation, 50 Years of Resistance

For the past 50 years, the Chinese government has done everything in its power to divide Tibetans and confuse the world about the issue. They've divided the land, tried to divide the people and attempted to convince the world that Tibetans calling for freedom are only a privileged minority of elite agitators. But a simple look at the history of the Tibetan people under Chinese rule shows a fierce commitment from across all sectors of Tibetan society to resist China's occupation and restore Tibet's freedom.

Tibet: One People, One Nation, 50 Years of Resistance

To honor the inspiring and enduring resistance of Tibetans across all of historical Tibet, and in exile, SFT has chosen the slogan above to use in our 50th commemoration efforts. As we work to counter the Chinese government's propaganda, we must be clear to China and the international community that Tibetans are a people united, belonging to one nation, with a proud history of resistance.

1. Commemorate 50 years of resistance against Chinese rule in Tibet.

2. To work in solidarity with the Tibetan people in their struggle for freedom and independence.

3. To honor the inspiring and enduring resistance of Tibetans across all of historical Tibet, and in exile.
