Is KNOWING God sufficient to make it to the Kingdom of Heaven?

"Our standing before God depends, not upon the amount of light we have received, but upon the use we make of what we have. Thus even the heathen who choose the right as far as they can distinguish it are in a more favorable condition than are those who have had great light, and profess to serve God, but who disregard the light, and by their daily life contradict their profession."—Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 239.

Its so important for us to understand that a mere knowledge of God is insufficient, a mere knowledge of His will is insufficient, and most of all a mere knowledge of Heaven will not get us there. Faith, belief must be followed by earnest action.

The word of God says in the book of James:

"21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. - James 1:21-25"

We see here that having a mere knowledge of the Word of God is not sufficient to save but rather the engrafting of that Word into our lives, the doing of God's at every opportune moment is what is required of all followers of the Most High God.

Brothers and Sisters, it is not enough to recite God's word, nor is it enough to proclaim God's word via our tongues but it must go as far as our deeds.

* When the opportunity presents itself for you to forgive, then choose forgiveness.
* When the opportunity presents itself for you to be patient, then be patient
* When the opportunity presents itself for you to be humble, then be humble
It is not enough to talk and preach and teach about these virtues, rather God wants On-the-Job trainees who are practicing what they have learnt, not people that live in a world of theory and no practical experience.

Let us choose to exemplify the characteristics of God at every opportunity and I guarantee our reward will be to dwell in the Courts of God for all eternity.

Blessings
