Why YOU should apply

I hope all is well with you. My name Felice Gorordo an I am a co-founder of Raices de Esperanza (Roots of Hope), a national network of more than 3,000 young leaders from 55 universities across the U.S. We are students and young professionals taking leading roles in our careers and passionate about empowering young people in Cuba. I am writing to share with you why YOU should apply to attend our national youth leadership conference at Cornell University (

For the past seven years, we bring together the leaders of our network at a national youth leadership conference on Cuba. In the past, our annual conferences have been held at Harvard, Princeton, and Georgetown, and included keynotes by personalities such as Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan, Academy Award nominee Andy Garcia and former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar. This year, we're holding our conference at Cornell and focusing on how the power of technology can be used to empower youth in Cuba. The name of the conference is "eRevolution: Camino a una nueva era (Journey to a New Era)" and it will take place from April 8-11, 2010. To apply, please visit

This year's conference is more relevant than ever before. Around the world, we've seen how the power of technology can be used to empower the people and promote positive social change. In Cuba today, young people hunger to connect with each other and the outside world. Moreover, given the recent events on the island, there is a great need for us to get involved in the cause and help however we can. I strongly encourage YOU and your student group's leaders to apply, get involved and make a difference. If you should have any questions or if there is anyway that I can ever be of assistance on any front, please don't hesitate to contact me. Remember, to apply please go to
