We are living in an extraordinary moment. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is on the brink of incredible breakthroughs that have already begun to change the lives of thousands of patients; treatments that can manage a person's condition with a daily pill, therapies that seek out cancer cells and kill them, and the use of a patient's own immune system to eradicate cancer not someday, but today.
As Many of you know my daughter Cheanelle Hempstead was diagnosed with Leukemia on 6/6/01 and was immediatly admitted into Albany Medical Center to start treatment right away. In the beggining it was very promising , even with the knowledge that Cheanelle had a more severe case Acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We were terrified and hopeful but sadly as time passed and many different cocktails of chemo were given , nothing seemed to be working. We still prayed for that Miracle but sadly on 11/29/01 only 10 days after Cheanelle's 2nd Birthday she took her last breath in my arm's, surrounded by Me, My Mom & My cousin Ashley. It was and still is a horrific moment that 13 years later still haunts my mind. I spent many years depressed, grief stricken and bed ridden due to the loss of my precious Cheanelle but with time, love & Support I decided to get up & fight just like my baby girl did but I can't fight this battle alone. So Please Walk with us or donate now & you can help save other families like myself from enduring the heartache of losing a loved one!
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk funds those treatments.
Please make a donation and check my Web site frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
