Every year, over 500,000 women worldwide die from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. The vast majority of these deaths happen in the developing world. Almost all of them are preventable.
The International Rescue Committee’s reproductive health services and other programs save the lives not only of mothers and babies, but of men, women and children affected by war and disaster around the globe.
Last month we launched a Causes fundraising campaign called “Help 50 mothers give birth to healthy babies (http://www.causes.com/campaigns/157311),” through which you can donate a symbolic gift - a safe birthing kit, prenatal care, or a family survival kit - that will support the IRC's work in aiding mothers and their families. We’re currently more than two-thirds of the way to our $1,200 goal with two weeks left in the campaign. Can you help us by donating or by telling your friends (http://www.causes.com/campaigns/157311)?
As always, thanks for your support of our life-changing, life-saving work.
