State Park Budget Update

This is to report some new information from the House Budget Office, which indicates that state funding for state park lodges in the iteration of the state budget currently under consideration by the legislature is being reduced by 50%, not eliminated as we reported earlier. However, this still represents a full 10% reduction to the overall operating budget and such a significant reduction will substantially impact the DNR’s ability to continue operating the lodges. Please continue to express your support for Georgia’s state parks by contacting your State Senators and Representatives.
