SAVE THE FROGS! Poetry & Art Contests-SAVE THE FROGS! holds an annual Frog Poetry and Frog Art Contest. The goals of the contests are (1) engage sectors of society not often involved in environmental affairs (namely poets and artists); and (2) enable non-science teachers -- most of whom would otherwise be unable to teach their students about frog extinctions -- to educate their students about amphibian extinctions and assist the students in developing an appreciation for frogs.
The 2nd Annual SAVE THE FROGS! Poetry Contest received 774 entries from 26 countries. The 2nd Annual SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest received 886 entries from 17 countries. SAVE THE FROGS! is currently compiling the best entries from both competitions into a book of frog poetry and art that will be used to raise awareness of amphibian extinctions and raise funds for our amphibian conservation efforts. You can see the winning art here and read the winning poems here.
