Gypsy is Peace Love & Dog Paws Rescue's newest addition as of 6.19.13 (an emergency rescue to say the least); her time was limited but now she has a second chance at life.
Gypsy is safely at Hope Animal Clinic today. She IS heartworm POSITIVE (which by looking at her, we pretty much knew that). We will start her on Heartguard and she will re-evaluated after 1 month. Her skin is the BIG issues right now. She is covered in demodex mange & possibly a bacterial infection secondary to the mange. She barely has any hair and she has puss filled bumps all over her. Her feet are so red and inflamed they are twice the normal size. She is so uncomfortable. She is getting a much needed bath to help her skin and we will start treatment for demodex, steroid shot, and antibiotic ASAP. Her age is5-6 yrs old (she looks much older due to her skin); Dr. Hudson said she is a "mature adult" but not a senior. On top of all of that, Gypsy has bilateral Entropions, which means both eyes are affected. We hope this gets better as her inflammation goes down but she may be a candidate for Entropion surgery once she is done with her other treatments; mange, malnutrition, heartworms and she has to be spayed too. As you can imagine, all of these treatments add up in cost and we are literally crying out for help. It’s obvious humans have failed sweet Gypsy until now. PLDPR has taken her into rescue but we desperately need help with all of the vet bills that are beginning to pile up for her.
SO HOW CAN YOU HELP THIS POOR GIRL THAT HAS SUFFERED FOR SO LONG AT THE HANDS OF IRRESPONSIBLE HUMANS??
PRAY FOR HER STRENGTH AND HEALTH
DONATE TO HER EXTENSIVE VETTING (EVERY PENNY ADDS UP!!)

SPONSOR HER HEARTWORM TREATMENT or BILATERAL ENTROPION SURGERY
CROSSPOST TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Peace Love & Dog Paws Rescue is taking donations as of today for Gypsy.
The demand for rescue is SO high and we were beyond full before we took this sweet girl in. We couldn't turn our back on her (like so many others have) but we desperately need your help! This girl desperately needs a foster home; please go to www.peacelovedogpawsrescue.com to apply to foster!
Gypsy has a long road and will need to have a loving hand, guidance & boundaries, patience - PLDPR will provide all vetting, food, crate, medications, etc.
Gypsy is a sick girl who doesn't feel too good, so she has a lot more personality to bring out as she progresses. We'll learn more about her everyday...keep that in mind if you may be considering fostering. She is a sweet girl and it is just going to take some time for her to trust. I KNOW there is a foster home out there for her! If you are seriously interested in fostering Gypsy, please apply online at www.peacelovedogpawsrescue.com .
Updates will be added and pictures too. Let’s rally around this sweet girl and show her that humans are kind and that she never has to worry for anything again. Thank you!
